After a long time never update this webiste, today i have done upgrade the drupal system in this web to latest version 5.1. I hope it will fix some bugs and securities. My work is now so busy. Not many times to me to play with Panic Linux. Tommorow is saturday, i hope i can continuing and tweaking Panic Linux with free and more times. I will post some news tommorow :) I hope Panic linux will release as soon as possible. Maybe it will release in two version. CD and DVD, where the last is more complete and bigger. yeaw... ! keep in pray!

Hello blog!Finaly, these morning i had successfully upgrade and recompiled my kernel from 2.6.18.5 to 2.6.20. I need 4-5 times to recompiled until this run stabil and compatible with other applications. There is some different between 2.6.18.5 kernel vs 2.6.20. I found it when test my firewall aplication (kmyfirewall) that use iptables as based. It error and cannot run. There is different name, like modules for NAT.

wow. i never touch and modify panic for one week. it was the record :D for me. this night i will try to upgrade and compile Panic kernel from 2.6.18.5 to 2.6.20. It must because i will use linux-live script version 6, that minimum required 2.6.20 kernel. It use LZMA that can compress 30% better then gzip. I hope i can compile and upgrade the kernel with smoothly without many problems, so i can release the first version of Panic faster, as soon as. I am not patient to release this..

According with my promise in blog some days ago, today i have try to use Qemu and virtualbox for emulate and running Ubuntu linux on my panic! desktop. I think Virtualbox is faster than qemu for loading and running. It need less resource compared with Qemu. Virtualbox also have a builtin gui that easy to use for beginner. Here is the screenshot:

Yesterday my wife friend, Villy is coming to our sweet home. She bring many photos where she save all on mmc cards. I ask him to use my Panic Computer to view her mmc card contents. But when she plug his usb memory card reader, the gadget is not working on my Panic!. ohhh.. in console i then type #lsusb, and the gagdet is detected as:

Yesterday i have done upgrade the qemu emulator from qemu 8.1 to 9.0. i also install the qemu accelarator that have been release as opensource now, kqemu-1.3.0pre11 (QEMU Accelerator (KQEMU) is a driver allowing the QEMU PC emulator to run much faster when emulating a PC on an x86 host.) I add a command to /etc/rc.d/rc.modules to load the kqemu module automatically at boot. For the GUI i use KQemu, a komander script that make easier to use qemu.

Base on this news: http://digg.com/linux_unix i have upgrade the FUSE in Panic!Linux to version 2.6.3, and NTFS-3G to NTFS-3G 20070207 Release Candidate. I also add small application called ntfs-config..

I have made a new logo for Panic! GNU/Linux. The new logo is more funny, more familiar, and of course not make people scare like before :)). The logo is accord with the spirit of Panic! Linux, make Linux Desktop more funny and easier to use than before. I hope u love it too like me:
