HEy jude! :D good morning.. i have install and try pixel image editor. i say its nice program. yes. the installation is very easy. all gui based, like u install on windows. btw some library is missing. it say:
pixel: /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by pixel)
but the application still running smoothly. i recommended u to run as user mode, not as root mode. as root the application will not stable, for example when i use brush the application terminate suddenly. so always run as user mode for the best performance :)
The effect plugins are running smoothly like on adobe photoshop :) imho it like photoshop 7. beside RGB Color, pixel also support CMYK Color system. For your information GIMP is not support CMYK Color. Another graphic application on linux that support CMYK is Xara Xtreme.
The application is shareware. all function can use, but when u save the picture it will add watermark "DEMO" above the picture until u purchase this. I thinks its a good application, so i think its not bad to me to add this on my Panic Linux distribution :D
