Yesterday my wife friend, Villy is coming to our sweet home. She bring many photos where she save all on mmc cards. I ask him to use my Panic Computer to view her mmc card contents. But when she plug his usb memory card reader, the gadget is not working on my Panic!. ohhh.. in console i then type #lsusb, and the gagdet is detected as:
Bus 1 Device 32: ID 0aec:3260 Neodio Technologies Corp. 7-in-1 Card Reader
I think in my head, what wrong with my panic, why it cannot detect the memory card reader? I then ask him to lend me his memory card reader, so i can "tweak this" (=ngoprek in Indonesian) until work on my Panic! Linux.
Im searching on google and found two great articles that help me solve the problem:
http://www.buberel.org/linux/usb-automounter.php
http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~ggbaker/personal/cf-linux
From two articles above i make some changes to my kernel, with add and recompile this features:
- USB Support: EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) support - Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device (CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN), required only for multi-card devices. - SCSI disk support (CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SD, sd_mod.o) - SCSI generic support (CONFIG_CHR_DEV_SG, sg.o)
after that, i add this command and save as /etc/modprobe.d/multicardreader :
options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=8
reboot my panic!, and VIOLA.. when i plug the card reader, the hal daemon automatically detect and show device icon on Desktop :D i am verry happy today :D

Thanks to villy, for lend me his mmc card reader :D !!
